The wedding of Sarah and Josh — Big Island, Hawaii
Always together with Elopement & Wedding Photographer: Couple Cups
Some weddings are years in the making. This one technically was — just not in the way most people plan them.
Sarah and Josh have been together for six years. They've moved across the US more times than they can count, and every year for about as long as either of them can remember, they'd look at each other and say this is the year we just go to the courthouse. And then life would keep moving.
This year, something finally made it stick. The family was already coming to Hawaii for Thanksgiving. Everyone they love would already be in the same place at the same time. It was, as Sarah put it, perfect.
Originally, it was going to be just the two of them. A quiet elopement, no fuss, exactly how they are as people. Then Sarah's mom found out — and well, now everyone on the Thanksgiving trip would be there. Which, honestly, makes for a better story.
For the ceremony, they looked exactly like themselves — relaxed, easy, real. The ceremony was small and honest. And just like that — after six years and one too many courthouse almost-visits — they were husband and wife. Surrounded by their whole family, on a beach in Hawaii, right before Thanksgiving.
Some things are worth waiting for. This was one of them.
Let's plan something that feels like you.
